A Supplement to the Film Festival Information Packet
Message about the mutual impact between the environment and you
Sample questions to get you thinking:
How does the environment set the mood for your day?
How does the environment (for example, the rivers) affect your health?
How does the environment (i.e. the weather, the landscape) affect what you can do (for example, sports, a career, education)?
Ability to deliver the message
After viewing your film is the audience able to articulate your message? How well?
Does your artistic style, your sounds, your imagery, your captions, etc. best support getting the knowledge to your viewers?
Connection to Pittsburgh Region
This could mean it happens here physically, for example flooding, or that a person works on protecting the environment here in Pittsburgh (as opposed to France). If it were about the Tsunamis- it could be for example about connections to families here or research about extreme weather being carried out here in the Pittsburgh Region.
Use of technology available to the entrant
Camera, tripod, lighting, microphone - how did you use them? How well?
Creativity, use of original approach or concept
Does the film take an unusual approach? Is it refreshing? Do you use a unique voice? Do you have a signature style?
Research involved
A good bibliography should be included, as appropriate. Is it good science? Give appropriate credit. Does it show an aspect of your working knowledge?
